Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program Instructor
Cynthia Powell, MA, CHWC, IWLC is an Assistant Professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, as well as Founder and Principal of Cynergy Wellness Group, LLC. She has over fifteen years of leadership experience within education and health care settings, including serving in the roles of Director and Clinical Instructor at The George Washington University, and provides coaching and training in mindfulness, resilience, self-care, and stress management.
Cynthia is a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher and received training through the Mindfulness Center at Brown University School of Public Health, as well as through the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She is also a Certified Health and Well-Being Coach, and an Integrative Wellness and Life Coach. Cynthia has also studied Mind-Body Medicine through Harvard Medical School, and Lifestyle Medicine for Coaches through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine & Wellcoaches. She obtained a Master of Arts in Education and Human Development, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Leadership Coaching, through The George Washington University.
Cynthia is actively engaged in various forums with a focus on promoting community health, resilience, and wellness, including serving on the Boards of Empower Fort Worth and the EcoPLex.US., and she offers training in Washington, DC and across the country.
