Integrative medicine: Chronic Pain and General Practice for Adults
Dr. Kossoff graduated from George Washington School of Medicine in 1983 and has been practicing Internal Medicine for the underserved for the past 30 years. In October 2017 she completed a Fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. She went on to study hypnosis through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and become a licensed Acupuncturist through the Helms Medical Institute. Dr. Kossoff is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
While working with the underserved in the District, Dr. Kossoff cared for many people with chronic pain on opioid medications. Studying Integrative Medicine allowed her to dream of helping her patients cope with their pain by giving them alternative strategies that worked.
Dr. Kossoff has bee teaching and mentoring in classes and programs offered by GWCIM such as Pain Clinic and Cancer Support Groups.
