Integrative Medicine in Long COVID Treatment: A Conversation With PA Ashley Drapeau

Ashley Drapeau, PA-C, LAc, MPAS, MAC, medical director of the GW Center for Integrative Medicine and of our Long COVID program, was recently interviewed by Clinical Advisor as part of its PA Week coverage. In the conversation, Ashley describes her path from the Air Force and bariatric surgery to a master's in acupuncture, which she pursued after seeing battlefield acupuncture used for acute pain. She explains how she started the Long COVID program in 2022 and built it around medical group visits and individual consults. She also talks about her own illness with COVID-19, what it taught her about prioritizing rest and boundaries, and why she believes the PA profession is well suited to combining conventional and holistic care.
